About Brian Frederick

Brian Frederick is a multi-instrumental musician, composer, arranger and song producer.  He is a self-taught musician with no formal music education and he does not work with musical notation. He has produced multiple genres of music, including pop, rock, blues, world, jazz, R&B, funk, and classical. Although his music can defy categorization, all of his songs display those qualities found in the best of instrumental popular music: the ability to create atmosphere and poetry without lyrics. His use of instrumental color, creative combination of sounds, conversational guitar style (which can be so close to the human voice it almost wails at times), picturesque melodies, and subtle nuance effectively tell stories without words. Frederick has played guitar and keyboards since 1959.
